About Dzigbode:

Dzigbode hails from Accra, Ghana, West Africa where he studied at Akosombo International School. His mentorship under Godwin Agbeli inspired him to adapt traditional West African drumming styles and techniques into emerging areas of film scoring, hip-hop and rap. Dzig ‘Kidd Kuuku’ is best known for experimenting with traditional Ewe drums and percussion while also embracing his ability to ‘shift’ drum set rhythms, creating more modern trends that add tension and release through rhythmic interpretation. Dzig is a huge fan of old-school hip hop and samples deep cuts of soul, reggae, and second-line recordings to develop modern takes while honoring and preserving past recordings. Always armed with a field recorder, Dzig has curated countless hours worth of environmental sounds from Ghana, Paris, New York, Dallas and Los Angeles. His foley recordings include rare animals, unique vehicles, and textured movements. .
